Duration: 6 hours (One Day Course)

Location: Coquitlam or Surrey Central

For Students, Secondary School is the most important time in their academic career – with a steep learning curve, students must learn to set their own goals, manage their time, and organize themselves effectively. For most, this does not come naturally – students must learn and practice these skills.

In this course, we will cover:

  • Effective goal setting and how to manage your time to serve your goals (and ultimately accomplish anything you set your mind to)
  • Organizational skills including Physical Organization, Planning and Team Organization
  • How to Maximize Study Time and Comprehension in the Classroom to ensure knowledge is retained
  • Strategies for reading textbooks and understanding what you read
  • An intro to Academic Writing including the basics of effective essay writing and an introduction to research papers
  • A University Admissions overview including how to look up the requirements for a potential program of interest and tips that can be done throughout secondary school to make your application extra competitive.

Parents are invited!

Like all of our workshops and one-on-one coaching sessions, parents are welcome to join. Starting post-secondary school is a stressful time for the whole family, and having parents involved will smooth the process and take some of the stress off the student. We are committed to ensuring our workshops are simple, complete and accessible for all students – if you have any questions, please contact us.
